As an assistant professor of special education and literacy at
Washington State University Vancouver, I teach
courses applicable to K-12 educators in the Special Education Endorsement Program.
I also conduct research in: skills/strategies for struggling readers and writers, and response to intervention (an intervention/assessment process for classifying students with a learning disability).
I have taught in elementary/middle schools for 11 years as well as at the university level since 2002. I am a member of a number of professional organizations related to special education and literacy methods/research. My personal interests include photography and hiking.
